Makurdi - President Bola Tinubu yesterday paid a condolence visit to the victims of the recent herdsmen attack in Yelewata, Benue State, where over 200 people lost their lives. The President arrived at the Nigeria Air Force Base Airport in Makurdi and proceeded to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital to visit the survivors.

The President was received warmly by the Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, and other state officials. During his visit, President Tinubu met with the victims and their families, offering words of comfort and assurance of the government's support.

President Tinubu also met with major stakeholders in the state, including families of victims, displaced persons, and community leaders, to discuss the violent attacks and find lasting solutions to the crisis. The meeting aimed to address the root causes of the prolonged conflict between herders and local communities in the state.

The attack on Yelewata community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State resulted in significant loss of life and injuries. The President's visit was seen as a gesture of solidarity with the affected communities and a demonstration of the government's commitment to addressing the security crisis in the state.

The President has pledged to pursue justice for the victims and their families, and to work towards finding a lasting solution to the conflict in Benue State.
